Shahrukh Khan's CHENNAI EXPRESS to cross Aamir Khan's 3 IDIOTS!

The seemingly un-surmountable record of Rajkumar Hirani'sAamir Khan starrer 3 IDIOTS is all set to be bettered by Rohit Shetty's Shahrukh Khan starrer CHENNAI EXPRESS.
Just to recall, in 2009 3 IDIOTS achieved the distinction of being the first film in the history of Hindi cinema to have crossed the 200 crore figure. The film ended its run netting 202 crore from India. Yes, one cannot help but mention that Salman Khan's EK THA TIGER looked like beating 3 IDIOTS but just fell short, though it managed to be the second film to touch the 200 crore figure.
Coming back to the present, it is now certain that SRK's CHENNAI EXPRESS, which has already netted more than 190 crores, will cross Aamir Khan's 3 IDIOTS next week. It will be interesting to see by how much.
Having said that, as the adage goes, records are meant to be broken, and two upcoming releases, Hrithik Roshan's KRRISH 3 and Aamir Khan's DHOOM 3 may just reset the bar higher, fingers crossed!

Top cricketers encouraged by massive turnout at CPL

Port-of-Spain (Trinidad), Aug 23 (IANS/CMC) Leading international cricketers say they are encouraged by the massive fan support for the inaugural Limacol Caribbean Premier League (LCPL) tournament.
"To get such a huge turnout in the CPL is fantastic. The only other place where you get these sorts of crowds is in the Indian Premier League," said West Indies opener and Jamaica Tallawahs captainChris Gayle, reports CMC.
"So the CPL ranks right up there with the other tournaments, which is really great to see. I am really happy that things have progressed and it can only get bigger and better from here on," Gayle said.
Officials say the CPL is set to finish with a bang after the two semi-finals and final at the Queen's Park Oval are sold out.
"In international games this year (in the Caribbean) and in the years before, we (the West Indies) have not gotten this type of support and this type of crowds," said Barbados Tridents captain Kieron Pollard.
"It is good for us as cricketers and good for the Caribbean people and hopefully it can continue and get bigger."
Organisers say the "full house" signs going up for the three matches confirm a trend that has been clear throughout the event, that began July 30, involving six regional franchises.
Most recently it was sell-out on successive days at Sabina Park,Jamaica, last weekend, and the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua Saturday saw its first sell-out.
"The response from the people has been awesome, that is the key to the success of the CPL," said Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik.
"People have been coming from everywhere. I was talking to the Jamaica players and they were saying 'We were not expecting much of a crowd in Jamaica', but we played there and even in a day game I saw the ground full and energetic. It is a great thing."

CPL in IPL, Big Bash league: Shoaib Malik

Port of Spain (Trinidad), Aug 23 (IANS/CMC) Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik of the Barbados Tridents has predicted that the Limacol Caribbean Premier League (LCPL) will become "huge" after the success of the ongoing inaugural tournament.
"After the IPL and the Big Bash League you can take this as third in the world and it is just the first year," said Malik.
"The response from the West Indies fans has been awesome. Whenever you are playing a league it is about people coming to the ground, that is the key to success, and I have seen that here," reports CMC.
Malik has been one of the stars of the show as the leading batsman with 223 runs from seven innings, as well as three wickets.
Malik's team, led by Kieron Pollard, plays Chris Gayle's Jamaica Tallawahs in the second semi-final Friday.
"People have been coming from everywhere," said Malik, still only 31, despite being a veteran of 32 Tests, 216 One-Day Internationals and 53 Twenty20 Internationals.
The Limacol CPL has given Malik a rebirth after he was dropped forPakistan's tour of Zimbabwe.
He has been a star in the CPL, both with the bat and ball, relishing pitches that have often assisted the slower bowlers.
"I was struggling with my shoulder and my elbow but I have had surgery for my elbow and I have worked hard in the gym," he said.
"Now I am absolutely fine. I can even bowl 30 overs in one day. I am very happy and I want to play as an all-rounder, that is my priority".

Caribbean venues packed again thanks to CPL Twenty20

Cricket in the West Indies has been played against a sorry backdrop of half-empty stadiums for years but the inauguralCaribbean Premier League (CPL) Twenty20 competition has finally reignited the imagination of the fans.
With bumper crowds, investment from Hollywood celebrities, international television distribution and plenty of local sponsors, organisers say the tournament is already well ahead of their expectations.
"We are at the stage we had anticipated for year three. We could never have imagined it to be the success that it is," CPL chief executive Damien O'Donohoe told Reuters.
The tournament concludes on Saturday, under lights, at a sold-out Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad after two nights of capacity crowds for the semi-finals.
The shortest form of the game has enjoyed success elsewhere, attracting new fans and stirring the passion of cricket lovers who had drifted away from stadiums, and the new tournament in the Caribbean is also proving a hit.
"To get such a huge turn-out in the CPL is fantastic. The only other place where you get these sorts of crowds is in the Indian Premier League (IPL)," said Jamaican batsman Chris Gayle, one of the world's top T20 players who has featured in the IPL and Australia's 'Big Bash'.
"The CPL ranks right up there with the other tournaments which is really great to see," added the big-hitting Gayle.
Unlike previous competitions in the region, the national-based teams have been organised as franchises with a draft and with players performing for islands other than those of their birth alongside foreign imports.
Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting, Sri Lanka batsman Kumar Sangakkara and former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik are among those to have featured in this year's tournament.
For Malik, the CPL has already earned a place as one of the top T20 tournaments in the world.
"After the IPL and the Big Bash you can take this as third and it is just the first year," he said.
"The response from the West Indies people has been awesome. Whenever you are playing a league it is about people coming to the ground; that is the key to success and I have seen that here.
"People have been coming from everywhere. I was talking to the Jamaica players and they were saying 'We were not expecting much of a crowd in Jamaica', but we played there and even in a day game I saw the ground full and energetic," added Malik.
O'Donohoe says the big crowds are due to low prices, with tickets available for $10, the added attraction of musical entertainment and the popular quickfire nature of the game.
And just as the IPL has enjoyed investment from Bollywood celebrities, so the Caribbean version has been able to lure some names from the world of entertainment and business.
Mark Wahlberg has a stake in the Barbados Tridents franchise. Fellow Hollywood actor Gerard Butler has an investment in the Jamaica Tallawahs while Richard Branson's Virgin group are tournament sponsors.
West Indies, a powerful force in the 1970s and 1980s, continue to struggle in test cricket but are reigning world champions in the shortest format and the region's cricket board are hopeful the CPL can kickstart a revival for the game.
"The support has been overwhelming and that says to me that the interest and passion for the game is still there," said West Indies Cricket Board president Whycliffe Cameron. "It's our responsibility to continue to nurture that love".
Saturday's final will see Guyana Amazon Warriors face the winners of Friday's semi between Jamaica and Barbados

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A suicide bomber killed 25 people and wounded more than 50 in Baghdad on Friday when he detonated his explosives inside a busy cafe, police and medical sources said.
The attack, one of the worst single bombings in Iraq in weeks, took place in a northern area of the capital near a park popular with families.

One killed in Vizag HPCL refinery fire

Hyderabad, Aug 23 (IANS) One person was killed and over 30 others injured in a huge fire that broke out Friday at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) refinery in Andhra Pradesh's coastal city of Visakhapatnam.
The fire engulfed a block of the refinery after an explosion in cooling tower Friday evening, eye witnesses said. Thick smoke billowing out of the expansion phase of the facility enveloped the area, making the rescue work difficult.
Over 30 injured were taken to various hospitals in the city. The condition of many injured is stated to be critical.
Tribal Welfare Minister P. Balaraju visited the scene and spoke to officials. He directed the authorities to ensure better treatment facilities for the injured.
Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy expressed anguish over the accident and asked the officials to submit a detailed report at the earliest. "He conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved families," said a statement from the chief minister's office.
Kiran Reddy directed Visakhapatnam district collector and police commissioner to take up rescue operation and provide all medical assistance to the injured in coordination with the HPCL management.

Pak government frees 337 Indian fishermen as 'goodwill gesture'

Islamabad, Aug. 23 (ANI): Pakistan has released 337 Indian fishermen, held for violating territorial waters, amid high tensions over ceasefire violations on the Line of Control (LoC).
A senior official at Karachi's Malir jail Shuja Haider said that 337 Indian fishermen and seven other juveniles have left for Lahore, where they will be handed over to Indian authorities at the Wagah border, the Express Tribune reports.
The move comes as part of an understanding between the two countries to release citizens who mistakenly stray into each other's waters in the Arabian Sea.
The release had been sped up as a goodwill gesture to India, Pakistani officials said.
The two nations have been reeling under increased tensions over unprovoked firing from both sides on the LoC, the de facto border in Kashmir, following the killing of five Indian soldiers on August 5 on the border of Poonch.
India had blamed the incident on the Pakistani military.
However, Islamabad had denied the claims and extended reconciliation, urging for restraint and dialogue.
According to the report, there are still 97 Indian fishermen and three other Indian nationals languishing in jails of Karachi. (ANI)

I'm a social worker, no role in husband's group: Tina Ambani

New Delhi, Aug 23 (IANS) Deposing as a prosecution witness in the 2G spectrum allocation case, Tina Ambani, wife of Reliance Group chairman Anil Ambani, told a court here Friday that she was a social worker and had no role in running her husband's companies.
In the special court of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), presided over by Judge O.P. Saini, Tina Ambani also said that she had no knowledge about Swan Telecom, which is among the companies awarded telecom spectrum and licence in 2008.
"I have no role in running Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group. I am a social worker. I run hospitals. I look after my family and my children," Tina Ambani said. "I am also not aware of any company named Swan Telecom."
The main charge of the investigative agency, prompting it to call Anil and Tina Ambani as witnesses, is that Swan Telecom was a shell company of the group, ineligible for telecom spectrum and licence -- a matter strongly denied by the defence.
The CBI says Tina Ambani presided over meetings where key decisions on 2G were taken.
Wearing a beige coloured salwar-suit (Indian attire), Tina Ambani took the witness stand in the packed room, and recorded her statement in a calm and composed manner. "I am fine with whatever you want to ask me," she said.
Asked about the three executives of the Reliance Group charged by the probe agency, she denied any acquaintance with two of them, but said she knew the third socially.
"I don't know Hari Nair, Surendra Pipara. I know Gautam Doshi socially, I know he is a tax person. I met him at a Diwali party," she said, adding, when probed further: "I don't understand if they have any role."
Tina Ambani was also asked to identify her signatures on documents pertaining to the company's meetings. "Its been more than six years. I don't recall now. But if the documents have my signature, then I must have attended the meetings," she said.
When the court concluded recording the statement of Tina Ambani, she invited the Judge to Mumbai and visit her hospital.
"Sir, please come to Bombay when you come there and make a visit to my hospital. It's a super speciality hospital. It's social work. You must come and see," she said.
Judge Saini seemed to have accepted the offer: "But after the disposal of this case."

Antaku Mundu Aa Tarvatha Movie Review

MOVIE:Antaku Mundu Aa Tarvatha
RATING:3/5

Cast: Sumanth Ashwin, Eesha, Madhubala and others .MS Raju's son Sumanth Ashwin, who made a forgettable debut with Tuneega Tuneega is back again with AMAT. This film is a romantic tale executed in a matured fashion.
Directed by : Indraganti Mohana Krishna
Produced by : Damodar Reddy
Banner : Sri Ranjith Movies
Music : Kalyani Koduri
Release Date : 2013-08-23

What is it about?

Anil (Sumanth) and Ananya (Eesha) fall in love and when they wanted to take the biggest step in their life, they get a doubt that their life won't be the same after marriage. So they tests their love by living together in a flat before marriage. Differences crop up as they expected and you have to watch it on screen to know how they end up.

Performances :

Sumanth Ashwin is good as the main lead. He has ease and very impressive with expressions. His oozing confidence is evident. He is a talent to watch for. Eesha is ordinary as the female lead. She neither have stunning looks nor great acting skills. May be this is a bit matured role to offer to a first timer. Rao Ramesh is fine and Ravi Babu is standard. They played hero's father and heroine's father roles respectively. Rohini is good as the hero's mother. Her performance in the climax scene is noteworthy. Madhubala of Roja fame is alright. She did well in the scene where she breaks down before Ravibabu. Srinivas Avasarala provided comic relief along with a married colleague of the hero.

Technicalities :

Dialogues penned by Mohana Krishna Indraganti are good. He has written some very good one liners. Music by Kalyani Koduri is neat. He delivers what is required for the film. So did cinematographer Vinda. They made this small film look good on the quality front. Editor Marthand K. Venkatesh did an okay job. Director Mohanakrishna proved his talent by handling this film in a very matured way. He didn't try to incorporate anything that deviates from the subject. He has stuck to the plot and did well to deliver a good film within the boundaries.

Analysis :

First things first! AMAT is a class romantic film that is snail paced at times. One has to watch it with patience. However, real movie lovers will be pleased with the end product. It will appeal to the target audience and impress them with sincerity and honesty.

First half of the film runs at a smooth pace and has a decent interval point to sustain the interest of audience. But the director fails to continue to smooth flow in the second half. There are certain illogical things which couldn't be overlooked. For instance, heroine comes to live in with the hero although she is staying with her parents in the same city. It is not so easy for youngsters to stay together in one flat without getting married.

Besides the logic, the scenes between lead pair in the second half are not convincing at all. Whole film is based on this part and director failed to deliver the goods. The climax part is handled well and on a whole, AMAT will win audiences hearts for its honesty and simplicity. You may watch it.

Purandeswari targets Jr NTR

Jr NTR hasn't attended the wedding ceremony of Balakrishna's daughter Tejaswini on August 21st despite being in the city. Instead of gracing the family function, Tarak preferred to shoot for his upcoming film Ramayya Vastavayya.

Suddenly, the name of Daggubati Purandeswari is doing rounds in the issue. It is being said that the Union Minister isn't on good terms with NTR since sometime and she is behind the late-minute invitation to the young hero. To make Tarak voluntarily skip the wedding, Purandeswari who is looking after the arrangements had pushed the invitation that was meant to be given to the actor till August 20th.

As Balayya too didn't bother to invite NTR much in advance due to the unpleasant developments in the past, Purandeswari succeeded in keeping the youngster at distance.

NTR Heroine turns B-grade Actress

Manjari Phadnis who was paired opposite Jr NTR in Shakti has been now doing sex-comedies and will be seen wearing bikinis in two of her upcoming Bollywood films Warning and Grand Masti. Lack of decent hits has forced her to choose a different track where she will have to showcase more of her skin than acting skills.

Warning is a 3D underwater flick in which Manjari will be mostly seen in a bikini. In Grand Masti too, she will be sporting a two-piece bikini and performing intimate sequences.

Manjari claims she lost all of her inhibitions after working in these films and has now become totally shameless in life. Ask her about why she is signing such films, the actress says audience have been enjoying adult comedies and glamour in the films. Her skin show will be the major attraction in these two adult flicks.

My Body is perfect for Item Numbers

Generally, Actresses of top league refuse to accept the item girl tag. However, Shriya who has done a quite of number of item songs says her figure is perfect for item numbers.

"Audience say my figure is perfect for item numbers. So, I have done them and I am not having any regrets. All the roles I have played till now are the ones which I liked the most. I feel actresses shouldn't confine to one particular language or image," comments the actress, who's item numbers in Komaram Puli, Munna and Devadas are very popular.

Shriya is confident enough to say her career isn't yet over. She will be seen once again opposite Nagarjuna in Akkineni Multistarrer Manam.

Tollywood incurs Rs 100 crore loss

The ongoing United AP movement in Seemandhra has incurred a loss of over Rs 100 crore to Telugu Film Industry. Exhibitors in Andhra and Rayalseema regions are reluctant to shell out money on new films and instead preferring to run the old movies which should have been removed from the screens by now.

For Film Industry, A loss of collections on any day are gone forever and that's the reason why several big producers are fearing to release their films.

Pawan Kalyan's Atharintiki Daredi and Ram Charan's Yevadu were postponed due to unfavorable situation in Seemandhra region. They would have collected at least Rs 100 crore by now if they were released as per the earlier scheduled date and producers of these two films have be losing few more crores in the form of interest on money they borrowed.

Tit-for-Tat to Harikrishna

TRS leader Harish Rao gave a fitting reply to TDP Rajya Sabha member Nandamuri Harikrishna who submitted his resignation protesting the division of Telugus.

Speaking to media persons, Harish Rao questioned when Harikrishna couldn't live with his own brother Balakrishna, how could he ask the Telugus to stay together. He lashed out at the TDP leader by accusing him of trying to cash in on the Telugu sentiment using his father NTR's name and reminded he joined hands with his brother-in-law Chandrababu Naidu who was behind the chappals thrown at his father during the Viceroy Hotel incident in 1995.

Harish Rao advised Harikrishna to write a letter to TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu asking him to clarify his stand, instead of writing a letter to the people.

On the other hand, Minister Sailajanath asked Harikrishna to resign from the TDP if he was really committed to keeping the state united.

Does Harikrishna dares to write a letter to Naidu and quit Telugu Desam to show his sincerity towards Samaikyandhra movement? Finally, TRS and Congress have given a Tit-for-Tat to the resignation drama.

Chennai Express earns Rs. 200.56 crore

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan-starrer “Chennai Express” continues to raise the bar. After grossing over Rs.150 crore in its opening week, the Rohit Shetty-directed film has now crossed the Rs.200-crore-mark in the second week and is still going strong.

The action comedy, produced by UTV Motion Pictures along with Shah Rukh's Red Chillies Entertainment, was made at a budget of about Rs.75 crore.

The domestic box office collection of Rs.200.56 crore is besides collections atcentres abroad where the film has been exhibited.

“This also shows the potential of Indian theatrical market - with right film, marketing and distribution there is no limit,” Gaurav Verma, Director - India Theatrical Distribution, Studios, Disney UTV, said in a statement.

Pawan's Distributors Preparing To Dare?

Pawan Kalyan's 'Attarintiki Daredi' is right now limited to reel-boxes sitting in processing labs in Hyderabad, as the protests in Seemandhra are still at large. but how many days should the movie actually wait? Will this protest die down any sooner?

All these answer less questions are now promoting the distributors of the movie to force Pawan Kalyan and his producer BVSN Prasad to fix a release date. With protest not going to drop at anytime in the next 3-4 months, a distributor who has spent huge money for acquiring rights of the flick will be feeling uneasy to pay interests for the mammoth investment. So, rather waiting for months, it is best to release the movie immediately such that it will make whatever amount it will, if not profits it will recover invested capital, a distributor said.

'Right now we'll lose only in parts of Seemandhra. But if Congress goes back on Telangana or announces bitter news to T-folks about Hyderabad, then we have to lose both in Seemandhra and Telangana', another distributor told to producer, say sources.

All these distributors are said to be keen on releasing the movie on August 29th, such that movie will run in all parts of Andhra Pradesh, with 'bifurcation' issue getting dragged anyway. Will the makers dare to release 'Attarintiki Daredi' now, at least keeping the views of distributors in mind? Wait and see.

Second Day Trouble For 'Thoofan'

Ongoing political crisis in Andhra Pradesh may completely hamper the chances of Thoofan, if we have to go by the latest reports. Though theatres are booked and all distributors are exhibiting confidence about the successful run of the flick without any 'protest' hurdles

Ram Charan's Thoofan is going to hit theatres worldwide on September 6th as per the big plan. However, some obstacles can be anticipated for sure in the wake of protests going on in Seemandhra region. More than that September 7th is going to become a crucial second day for Thoofan. On that day, Seemandhra JAC and AP NGOs are planning for a never-before kind of 'Maha Meeting' in Hyderabad. They are expecting all the Seemandhra people  living in twin cities as audience for the meet. At the same time, Telangana JAC wants to come up with a sequel to their previous movie 'Million March' on the same day. One could recall heavy violence has outburst during that rally, and statues on Tankbund are destroyed.

With both these protests scheduled for September 7th, any minor untoward incident will ignite areas in other parts of Andhra Pradesh, and that will surely take a toll on Thoofan's second day. Will it not?

Anyway police are confirming that neither Seemandhra NGOs nor Telangana JAC people will get permission to put a show in Hyderabad at any cost. This is surely adding fuel to the fire, and may trigger more sparks.

Raja Rani trailer talk: A Perfect Rom-Com!

Raja Rani trailer talk: A Perfect Rom-Com!

Much to the delight of the movie buffs, the theatrical trailer of most awaited film 'Raja Rani' starring Nayantara and Arya in the lead is finally out. It's a perfect romantic comedy in every sense and the hate-love relationship between four people has been beautifully picturized.

The promo opens with both Nayantara and Arya marrying in a Church. Soon, we would come to know that circumstances have forced them to tie the knot and the two were actually in love with someone. Journey fame Jai plays the love interest of Nayan and actress Nazriya will be seen as the lady love of Arya in the flashback episodes. Natural performances of Nayan, Arya, Jai and Nazriya will be the taking point after the release.

One-liners like "If a man boozes after being in love, it means love failure. But, if he drinks after getting married then it's a life failure", "If a girl cries she's deceiving you, but if if a man cries he has been deceived" and "No couple can be born as made for each other. It's how you make your life meaningful" were impressive.

Director Atlee has presented the trailer in a most appealing manner and the way he extracted the emotions from the actors is praise worthy. Music by GV Prakash is in good sink with the theme. Producers AR Murugadoss and Fox Star Studios surely have a winner in hand. Don't miss this perfect rom-com!

In-Talk: Safest Hero Of Tollywood

Let's come to the point straight. Who is the safest hero in Tollywood? Not in terms of recovering budget for producer, but for getting his movie release in all three regions of Andhra Pradesh without fail.

With Hari Krishna resigning for his MP seat, OU JAC warned that they are going to ban the movies of Jr NTR in Telangana region. Already Seemandhra JAC has earlier made it clear that if Chiranjeevi fails to resign for his minister post, they will definitely block movies of Charan and Pawan. In that case, every hero will either fall into this region or that region, so he will face music in other region. Also if he got any link with any political party even through their parents or uncles, then yes his market is gone. Almost all big heroes and their elders have connections to any one of the political outfit. So, who is the safest hero in Tollywood now?

Some say that people like Akash and Prince are tension free heroes as none objects their films. Also Tamil heroes like Surya, Karthi and Vijay could simply rock in all three regions of AP as they don't belong here. So are there any other safest heroes better than these types? Definitely not, if we keep on spreading hatred on regional bias!

Aishwarya Rai loses her temper yet again

Aishwarya Rai isn't popular for her beauty but also for rubbing the wrong shoulder with media persons at the press conferences. She once again lost her cool during an interactive session with journos at a promotional event.

To a question on why Senior Actresses in the Industry were being offered only Item Numbers, she shot back,"These kind of questions are meant to be asked to rest of business, not to an actor".

Actually, the journo has asked such question based on the reports of Aishwarya being offered an item song in director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film 'Ram Leela'. There is no clarity on whether she was agitated either for calling her a 'senior actress' or using the term 'item number'. Few months ago, he fumed at a journo for asking her when she is going to make a 'comeback' into films. Whatever the reason might be, media willn't be pleased with her arrogant attitude.

Aish has performed dance numbers in the film 'Shakti' - Ishq Kamina (Anthapuram Hindi remake) in 2002 and 'Bunty Aur Babli' - Kajra Re. Both these songs have been chartbusters and set the standards high in Bollywood.

REY talk: YVS risking too much!

YVS Chowdary has got the track record of exceeding the estimated budget and taking the projects into a risky zone every time. Even after successive flops in the past few years, he hasn't learnt his lessons and this attitude has given a chance for people to poke fun at him yet again.

Apparently, YVS Chowdary who is also producing his upcoming directorial flick 'Rey' which marks the debut of Sai Dharam Tej has invested over Rs 20 crore on the venture.

Trade analysts say, the market of a debutant hero doesn't exceed Rs 12 crore no matter to which filmy family he belongs to! Except for some exceptional cases like Ram Charan who is treated as the replacement of his legendary father, there will not be much change in this figure. Spending Rs 20 crore on Sai Dharam is highly risky as the audience sees him just as one of the family members of Chiranjeevi and he definitely can't enjoy the privileges of Charan.

Apart from delivering decent content, YVS should now do three things right - Solo Release, Participation of all the Mega Heroes in the promotions and Aggressive Marketing. If any of these don't happen, then Mr. Chowdary is in serious trouble.

NTR, Bunny @ Dynamic, Creative Fight

The quintessential element of any commercial Telugu cinema is a fight. Depending on body language and director's vision, these fights become unique selling points for many flicks. For example the whole of 'interval block' made 'Chatrapati' a big hit.

Young tiger Jr NTR is from a long time popular for his mass fights. At the same time, Allu Arjun too rocks the circuit with his super stylish body language. Right now both are engaged in fights for their respective flicks. NTR is working on Ramayya Vastavayya's final schedule where a big fight with 1000 fighters is being canned, while Allu Arjun has just started fighting for his 'Race Gurram'.

Director Harish Shankar is known for his fast paced dynamic fight sequences, say it in Mirapakai or Gabbar Singh. So, watching Jr NTR do such crispy energetic feat is always a delight for fans. At the same time, Surender Reddy's taste for quality visuals and slow motion effects in action sequences is always a hit with movie lovers for their creativity. Allu Arjun engaging in such fights is like style meet style, and the substance will be interesting then.

Get ready for Ramayya Vastavayya and Race Gurram in the coming days to witness these spine chilling action sequences.

B-Town Director describes Charan as the Best

Ram Charan has come under lot of criticism ever since the song promos of his maiden Bollywood flick 'Zanjeer' were unveiled and none from the Hindi film fraternity have come out in support of his film either. Luckily for him, the first compliment is from none other than B-town's renowned director-cum-producer Karan Johar.

Recently, Ram Charan visited the sets of dance-based show 'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 6' on which Karan Johar was one of the hosts along with Madhuri Dixit and choreographer Remo. Speaking about Cherry, Karan showered praises saying no one in South Film Industry shakes booty like he does.

Charan, on the other hand, commented that Madhuri Dixit's iconic dance number 'Dhak Dhak' was inspired from Chiru and Sridevi's chartbuster song 'Abba Nee Tiyyani Debba' in 'Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari'.

In the end, Ram Charan thrilled the North Indians with his graceful moves on the dance floor. No doubt, they would have wished to see a perfect dance number of the Southern actor in 'Zanjeer' after this reality show.

Sreenu Vytla's Old Strategy For Aagadu

Director Sreenu Vytla knows how to blend all the required ingredients to make a flick work well at Box office. He is the new age EVV Satyanarana, a master of both comedy, sentiment and action movies with commercial touch. Also, Vytla adopts some strategies to make his films connect with audience.

Undoubtedly every star hero who got any little political connection is right now facing music from both Seemandhra and Telangana agitators. Anticipating trouble, Sreenu Vytla planned it quite well in 'Dookudu' to satisfy both the region's audiences. He used Andhra based Telugu in romantic scenes and made Mahesh speak Hyderabadi lingo while in action sequences. The peppy one-liners uttered by Mahesh in Dookudu, using both slangs of Telugu are quite interesting. Also that satisfied the egos of both regions for sure, to hear their star hero speaking local slang.

Source say Sreenu Vytla devised the same old strategy for 'Aagadu' now. Romance in Andhra slang and action in Hyderabadi lingo is the idea. Aagadu is nothing but a sequel to super hit Dookudu and will roll from first week of November with a regular shoot.

Rupee snaps 6-day losing streak; recovers 25 paise to 64.30 Vs dollar

New Delhi: The rupee on Friday recovered by 25 paise to 64.30 against the US dollar in early trade on the Interbank Foreign Exchange.

Fresh selling of dollar by banks and exporters amid selective buying in stocks mainly supported the appreciation in rupee.

The sentiment was also boosted after Finance Minister P Chidambaram said yesterday that revival and encouragement of growth will continue to be the focus of the government.

Extending its losing streak for the sixth straight day, the rupee had ended at 64.55 after hitting a fresh low of 65.56 against the US dollar in the previous session.

The rupee is down nearly 16 percent so far this year despite efforts by policymakers to prop it up.

Reeling under the battering suffered by the rupee and markets, Finance Minister P Chidambaram and RBI Governor D Subbarao yesterday sought to assuage investors that there are no capital control measures in the offing and there is no need for panic in markets.

While maintaining that they were not targeting a level for the rupee, both of them said it was undervalued. The RBI will revisit measures to check speculation in forex market once stability returns, they said.

In order to arrest the rupee slide, RBI last week had announced measures such as restriction on Indian firms investing abroad and on outward remittances by resident Indians, triggering talks of return of capital control regime.
